Tour-1:                             GLIMPSES OF LADAKH

Day -1:      Arrival Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. After welcome tea/ coffee on arrival, take complete rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 mtrs). In the late afternoon drive to the city centre for an orientation walk in the markets, followed by a visit to Shanti Stupa. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Day-3:       After breakfast drive to Khardong-La (80 kms round trip), highest motorable pass in the world (alt: 18,380 ft.) and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.  On the drive back from the pass, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Indus Valley and the endless peaks of the Zanskar range. Rest of the day free to explore the markets. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day-4:       Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home.

Day-4:       Full-day tour of the Alchi-Likir circuit; visiting the 15th century Likir Monastery and then the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex of Ladakh which is famous for its paintings and architecture. After sightseeing and lunch here, drive back to Leh, en-route visiting Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib,  the 'Temple of Guardians' (Gon-khang) in Spituk monastery, revered by Hindu devotees as Kali-Mandir, and the Hall of Fame. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

In the late afternoon / evening, drive back for 30 kms to Tangtse village and check into Hotel / Guest House / camp for dinner & overnight stay.

Day-4:       Leave Tangtse after breakfast and retrace the road to Leh, across the Chang-la Pass. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit Hemis Monastery, the biggest and most famous monastery of Ladakh, and then return to the highway for onward journey to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day-5:        After breakfast drive to Khardong-La (80 kms round trip), highest motorable pass in the world (alt: 18,380 ft.) and recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.  On the drive back from the pass, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Indus Valley and the endless peaks of the Zanskar range. After descending from the pass, drive on to Tirit / Tegar and check into a fixed camp. Post lunch, you can go on a sightseeing around Sumoor village including Samstaling monastery. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day- 4:     In the morning, drive to Deskit (headquarters of Nubra) for sightseeing of Deskit, Hundar and the Sand Dunes. Later drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon. Rest of the day free to explore the local markets. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Note:    The Nubra Valley tour can also be done by driving first to Deskit or Hundar for sightseeing & night stay in fixed camp or Hotel/Guest House while the next day the Sumoor-Samstaling area can be visited before driving back to Leh.

Day 3:       After early breakfast leave for Lamayuru (127 kms.), believed to be the oldest site where a monastery was founded during the 11th century AD. Lamayuru monastery is famous for the spectacular setting in the backdrop of the 'Moonland' feature. After sightseeing and lunch here, drive back on the Leh road to Uleytokpo to check-in at the Ulley Ethnic Resort, or drive further up the valley and cross over to Alchi for overnight stay in a hotel.

Day-4:       In the morning visit the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex of the region and famous for its paintings and architecture. Later drive back to Leh, enroute visiting the 15th century Bazgo Castle, Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib,  the 'Temple of Guardians' (or Gon-khang) in Spituk monastery, which is revered by Hindu devotees as Kali-Mandir and Hall of Fame. Rafting Option:  On this day, you can opt for a rafting trip on the Zanskar River between Chiling &    Nimu (difficult) or on the Indus between Phey and Nimoo (easy), on extra charges.

Day-9:       Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight for onward journey.

Tsomoriri-Tsokar Extension.

Day-9:   Leh-Tsomoriri / Korzok (15070 ft. / 220 kms.)

After early breakfast drive upstream the Indus, past the hot springs of Chumathang, to Mahe village and cross over to the left bank of the river to drive on to Puga Sumdo. Here the road bifurcates, the right side road leading to Lake Tsomoriri (alt: 15,000 ft.), about 28 km long and 8 km wide, and famous as the breeding ground of the bar-headed geese. The village of Korzok with its ancient monastery is the only major habitation in the area. Dinner & overnight in fixed camp or Guest House. 

Da-10:       Tsomoriri-Tsokar-Taglangla-Leh (17582 ft.)-Leh-approx 200 kms): In the morning, drive back to Puga Sumdo and then take the left road to the Polokongka (4920 mtrs.), a long and wide tabletop pass. Upon descending to its  base, one can see the salt lake system called Tsokar in the distance on account of the white salt deposits around it. After lunch & sightseeing here, drive to Leh via the Manali-Leh road, crossing the Taglang-la (alt: 17,585 ft.) enroute. Dinner & overnight in the hotel.

Day-11:     Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight for onward journey.

Tour-8:                                    HIMALAYAN CARAVAN

Day -06:        Leh-Alchi-Lamayuru-Kargil: (240 kms.): After early breakfast leave for Kargil, en-route visiting Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point and the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex of the region and famous for its paintings and architecture. Thereafter, drive on to Lamayuru and stop here for lunch and sightseeing of the dramatically located Lamayuru Monastery. Later, drive to Kargil, stopping at Mulbek (40 kms. short of Kargil) to admire the 9-Mtrs. tall rock sculpture of the Maitreya Buddha standing on the roadside, dating back to   the 7th -8th century AD. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day -07:        Kargil-Sonamarg-Srinagar (205kms): Early departure for Srinagar via Darss, Zojila & SonamargDrass is famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world. Zojila Pass (11,500-ft. /3,505 m), is the watershed between the trans-Himalayan landscape of Ladakh and the lushness of Kashmir. Sonamarg, the famous hill station of Kashmir valley, is first major town over Zoji-la.  From here it's a smooth drive to Srinagar through the beautiful Kashmir countryside.

Tour-9:                            KASHMIR-LADAKH OVERLAND

Srinagar/Sonamargs/Kargil -Lamayuru/ Alchi / Leh-Shey/Thiksey/Hemis/Stok-Pangong Lake-Nubra Valley

Day -01:        Srinagar- Sonamarg- Kargil- (205 kms): After breakfast leave for Kargil, across Sonamarg (the Golden Meadow) and Zoji-la pass (11,500-ft. /3,505 mtrs), the Himalayan pass between Kashmir and Ladakh.  Drass, the first township over the pass, is famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world. Kargil, the 2nd largest town of Ladakh is an hour's drive away form here.  Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Day-02:        Kargil-Lamayuru-Alchi-Leh (235 kms): Leave Kargil early in the morning. At Mulbekh (40 kms) stop to admire the 9-metre tall rock sculpture of Maitreya Buddha on the roadside, dating back to the 7th-8th century. Driving on across the Namika-la 12,200 ft) and Fotu-la (13,432 ft.) passes, reach Lamayuru and stop for lunch and sightseeing of the dramatically located Lamayuru Monastery. On the way to Leh, you can visit the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex of the region and famous for its paintings and architecture. Other sites on this route are Magnetic Point, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib & Hall of Fame. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day-03:         Full day sightseeing tour of monasteries and palaces. After leisurely breakfast visit Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day-04:         Early departure (6 AM) for Pangong Lake (approx. 300 kms round trip) via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). Pangong Lake (alt: 14,500 ft.) is 4-5 kms wide and over 135 kms long, about two-third of which lies on the other side of the Indo-China Border. After sightseeing and lunch at the lakeside, drive back to Leh, reaching in the evening. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day-05:        After breakfast, leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft / highest motorable pass in the world).   • Inner-line permit for visiting Pangong / Tsomo-riri Lakes, Nubra /Khardongla etc.
  • Entrance fees for visiting Monument, Monasteries & Museums included in the itinerary.
  •  All applicable hotel taxes.

TOUR PACAKGES DO NOT INCLUDE:

  • Any expenses of personal nature such as tips, laundry, telephone calls, fax etc.
  • Rafting & Camel Safari Charges.
  • Any expense incurred or loss caused by reasons beyond our control such as bad weather, natural calamities (landslides, floods), flight delays / rescheduling / cancellations, any accidents / medical evacuations, riots/strikes/war, & etc.
  • Any kind of drinks (Alcoholic, Mineral, Aerated)
  • Any expenses incurred on extra transport, apart from the ones covered in the package.
  • Any other tax or service charge that could be enforced during this period.
  • Room service & additional meals.
  • Medical & Travel insurance.
  • Guide service etc.
  • NO REFUND FOR ANY UNUTILIZED SERVICE.

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Prices valid from April through October 2009.
  • Prices valid for minimum 02, 04 & 05 clients traveling together in one vehicle.
  • Prices are based on accommodation in standard category rooms at all hotels.
  • 25% advance (Non Refundable) to be deposited for booking of the tour.
  • Balance 75% to be paid at least TEN DAYS before reaching Leh.
  • Payments in Leh accepted in cash only.
  • Children of 12 years and above will be treated as adult person.
  • All bookings and confirmations are subject to availability.
  • Any increase in the hotel tariffs, fuel charges or taxes, which may come into effect prior to the departure, will lead to an increase in the Tour price.
  • Hotels / Houseboats Accommodation in Srinagar can be booked on best terms
